Visit of the Volkshochschule Jena at FLI
How and why do we age? Declining birth rates and increasing life expectancy make it necessary to deal with the consequences of the increasing number of older people. Eternal youth may remain a dream, but to grow old healthy is a goal within reach. It is the aim of biomedical research on ageing to break the link between old age and poor health.
Within the series "Jena - Stapelstadt des Wissens", visitors from the Volkshochschule Jena (adult education centre) are expected at the Leibniz Institute for Age Research from 18 h today, September 22nd.
Professor C. Englert will first speak about the different aspects of research on ageing. Subsequently the visitors, who are between 60 and 70 years of age, will have the opportunity to have a look around selected laboratories of the FLI.
