organised by: Chairmen: A. Baniahmad (FSU) & C. Englert (FLI)

The meeting is held as an
Annual Meeting of the German Genetics Society (GfG).

The purpose of the meeting is to explore and discuss the regulation and function of genes and processes that are known or supposed to control cellular and organismic aging.

This meeting will aim to describe, characterize and compare the underlying mechanisms of cellular and organismic senescence in different species, ranging from microorganisms, plants to humans.

The conference will cover the major 'classical' theories of aging as well as novel and emerging concepts and will address the latest developments at this exciting frontier of science.
